Misha is a bit of an idiot, and a bit self-important. He can be really annoying and almost douchey, mostly because he's kind of oblivious to anything outside of his own little world. Generally speaking though, he's not such a bad guy. He's friendly, good-natured about jokes at his expense, easily amused. For the most part, Misha is a relaxed, laid back sort of guy who likes his safe, comfortable world with his fun, interesting career. He's into the trendy sort of new-age stuff - he's very into yoga, fancy teas, meditation, massage therapy, aromatherapy and that sort of thing.
He likes to think he's very good friends with his coworkers, but Jared and Jensen can be kind of stand-offish, and they hate each other's guts. Sometimes he gets the vague impression they don't like him much either, but he's sure he can win them over eventually. He even thinks they may be making progress in that regard, they've taken to playing some pretty good pranks on him.
Actorly disputes aside, Misha enjoys his work and takes it seriously - perhaps a little too seriously. At times, he lets it inflate his ego, almost edging into being a bit of a diva, but he's a little too chill to take it too far. He does however really enjoy interacting with his fans and messing around on social media. He keeps a lively Twitter going and has an equally lively following. What can he say? He's a pretty cool guy and his fans are a real sweet little bunch of maniacs.
He is one of those people who is either naive or willfully ignorant, brushing off strange and unusual things as impossible, jokes or coincidences or something. Eventually there comes a point where he can no longer brush it off, at which point he may panic because he has no idea how to handle it. While he plays a badass really well on TV, he's very much NOT a badass in real life. He's not good with violence or serious confrontation, more likely to try and joke his way out of an issue, or awkwardly back out of a conversation. He's fairly easy to scare the shit out of. He's down with that whole, do what the scary people with knives/guns say and they have no reason to hurt you, type of thinking. Unfortunately, this doesn't work so well in practice.
Misha Collins grew up in a fairly average family. His parents divorced and he stayed with his mom and her small string of occasional boyfriends. In high school his family's home burned down and they were stuck living out of their car for a while. Misha worked as a carpenter to put himself through college. Living on the East Coast, he found several odd acting jobs and decided this acting thing was pretty easy! It was at this point he decided he'd go and become a movie star, so it was off to Hollywood!
A year in L.A. and he began to realize that maybe this wasn't going to be as easy as he'd thought. He barely got any parts, but a bit part here, a commercial there, and ever so slowly he began to build up a career. He worked hard and made his way into a few larger roles on various TV shows, though he never seemed to make the cut as a main character. After being a chronic guest star for some years, he finally landed his big part - the angel Castiel on the show Supernatural. He was only meant to be on for a few episodes but Misha quickly established himself and his character as a well-liked part of the cast. The fans liked him, and he meshed well with the others onscreen, so they expanded his role into an off-and-on regular.
Okay, so Supernatural has a bit precarious standing, and maybe his costars Jared and Jensen hate each other's guts, but Misha was delighted regardless; even aside from it being the best and most enduring role he'd had, he really enjoyed this show and character. He has a loyal, ever-growing following on Twitter and a semi-regular job to pay the bills. Life was great until the day Jared and Jensen lost their fucking minds.
At first, it was just small things, like the strange joke where they went all method off camera. Misha assumed they were pranking him at first. But the next day, they suddenly lost whatever talent they'd possessed. Usually it was Misha who would break character and mess up a take, but Jared and Jensen didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing or even how a set was run. Not to mention the mysterious package they arrived with that Jared claimed was human remains - creeeepyyyyy. Misha and the crew suspected drugs or some sort of extended acid trip of some kind. Misha tweeted about the black market organ delivery too. Then they beat the shit out of some poor extra, and everyone figured they must have REALLY lost it. But it wasn't Jared and Jensen that were going to prove dangerous to Misha.
That evening, as he was about to head home, some PSYCHO appeared out of nowhere in his backseat and held a knife to his throat and told him to drive. The guy was seriously crazy, kept babbling about magic not working and needing to send a message home and a whole lot of things that made no sense. Misha was scared shitless and didn't know what more to do than go along with it. They guy had him drive to a quiet secluded area of town, and dragged him out of the car and over to an alley. Misha was sobbing with terror, while the crazy guy was still ranting. He held Misha against the wall, and told him he should be grateful for this... and then he slit Misha's throat, killing him.
